Father and Son

In the book we are reading, The Road, the relationship between the father and son is very strong. They are traveling South because of a natural disaster. The son is aware that there are changes happening and they are going to die so father makes him feel as comfortable as possible. Every question he asks, the answer and generally "Yes, Of Course". Then son asks a lot of questions that are hard to answer as a parent. The father and the son are left with only 2 bullets and have to survive with 2. Throughout the struggles, the father still some what maintain his normal routine. In example, when the son asked his father can he read him a book. Because he has been reading home a book every night, he decided not to stop during the mission to survival. This situation reminds me a lot of the movie "Pursuit of Happiness", where the father did anything he could to keep and him and his son alive. The father is left with a pistol that only has 2 bullets in them, and is forced to survive with only two bullets. He has to fight away many people, including rapist, with only two bullets. So far, father and son is the most important them of the story. Although the son asks his father very difficult questions, the father always answer in a manner where his son is happy and will understand. In example, the son asked his father "are we going to die" on Page 9, the father answers "Some time, not now." That is a good thing to hear considering how the world is going and how things are looking. In the crisis they are experiencing, there's not much to be happy about , but knowing you are going yo be happy will make you happy.
